God Wars

A new card game me and my good friend Axle are working on, it combines the elements of Magic : The gathering, Yugioh, and a bit of Gayotic (Chaotic)

So I want to give a thorough explaination on how it works


Storyline:

First of all, mostly everyone needs an shallow purpose to why this card game exists.

So the gods arent happy, what else is new? Humans are running rampant, the world is decaying, and the gods want to get control, but only one can rule the entire planet, all of the gods are leading overlords, the multiple rulers of the kingdoms around the world, to war, in order to decide who the world belongs to. In sense, its a mindless competition among the god of evil and the god of pure heart, who will win this total war?

The Cards:

Well its a card game so obviously there is some cards!

Overlord Cards:

This is the spine of your war, if your overlord is defeated, the game is over, and your kingdom belongs to another god of there faction.

This is what a overlord card would posses

an Hp Value - how much damage the overlord can take until he is killed. All overlords have large amounts of Hit points, so dont worry if they take damage.

an Defence Value - how much damage is supressed when the overlord is attacked. like its Hp value, they have high amounts of Defence, so taking it down will prove to be difficult

an Ability - all overlords have a special ability that effects the layout of the game, called "god abilities" these abilities can give your units / hero cards huge boosts, provide extra support, or hinder the other overlord

The overlord cannot defend himself, keep him well guarded at all times!

Battlefield Cards:

Battlefied cards represent where this war is taking place, Battlefield cards affect all Unit/Hero cards on the battlefield. unless stated otherwise

This is what a battlefield card would posses

A Modifier Value - this shows what stats are changed on the unit / Hero cards, they mave have positive or negative values

A Effect - Like the overlord, Battlefield cards have a special effect that takes place during part of each players turn, they could hinder youself and your oppenent, or one or the other. They have varied effects so find the one that best suits your deck!

Battlefield cards remain in play for the entire length of the game, and both players can control one at the same time and cannot be removed, unless by a card effect

Unit Cards:

Unit cards are your bread and butter, without them, your kingdom will quickly fall with no protection from invaders.

heres what a unit card would possess:

A Alignment - What the unit fights for, if any at all, he could be Good, Evil, or Neutral. This indicates what cards he will be affected by. For example, on that supports neutral cards will support all alignments. will Good will support good and neutral alignments, and Evil will support Evil and neutral alignments.

A Element - This is what element the card represents, every unit card will have a element, which can be Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, and Dark. Even if a unit is Dark, that doesnt mean its evil, vice versa for a Light unit, it doesnt mean its good. The element represents what cards will effect the unit. They have no advantage over another.

Stat Values - Like the overlord, a unit card has stats which will affect how the unit will handle battle, these values are; hit points, mana points, attack, defence, power, and resistance.

Attacks - these will represent what the unit can do, some only have one command, while others can have multiple attack commands. you can only use a attack once, and only if you can pay its morale cost.

Recruit cost - This is how much morale it costs to put the unit in play, these costs are usually low.

Maintenence cost - How much keeping the unit in play will cost during the end of each of your turns, if you cannot pay its cost, it is sent to the discard pile immediately.

Wood Footsolider - Earth - Good - Elemental

Charge! - 10 Physical

A Basic physical attack

Growth - 25 Other

Remove 1 mana counter

Restore 25 Hp to this card

Hp 50
Mana 20
Attack 35
Defence 20
Power 0
Resitance X

The X value means its immune to magical attacks

Recruit Cost : 10

Maintenence cost : 10

Heres another example

Lesser Dragon - Fire - Evil - Dragon

Flare - 25 Magical

Remove all mana counters

Fly - 10 Other

Remove 1 mana counter

This card cannot attack until the end of your next turn

This card cannot be selected as a attack target until the end of your oppenents turn

Hp 50
Mana 30
Attack 20
Defence 10
Power 75
Resistance 20

Recruit Cost : 30

Maintenece Cost: 25

Anyways like Enox said, sounds like it could be a whole TGC to me.
Go buy some cardstock and get you and axle to do some graphics and stuff. Print em out on the cardstock then take em to somewhere you go.
