Actually that's easy. If you multiply to only by powers of 10, every 0 you multiply is just another 0 on the solution.

So 10 x 10 = 10+0 = 100

100,000 x 1,000,000,000 = 100,000+000,000,000 = 100,000,000,000,000

Granted most 2nd graders don't know multiplication but still just saying that's fairly easy.
