No... power suit is standard. Varia suit is an upgrade that adds extreme temperature resistance (Lol metroid prime)

Power suit has sort of flatter shoulders, while the varia suit has larger, rounder shoulders.

If you'd played the original Super Metroid though, the varia was the standard ( including the big shoulders )

actually, no. you start with the power suit, once you kill kraid, you get the varia suit, after phantoon you get the gravity suit.

wait.. don't you mean metroid? super metroid was the 3rd game. metroid was the only exception to the power/varia suit alternate shoulder shapes. but you do start with the power suit. orange. you get the varia suit wich is pink. purple if you turn on missiles.

Yeah, i always get them mixed up. But since Metroid is the original, i go by those powerups ( or M:fusion)
